How It Works
1. Register Online
Registration for new appointments opens at 8am every Friday – Monday for dates two
weeks in advance. Our team may take up to 72 hours to review all appointments. Once
reviewed, clients will receive either a confirmation or denial email.
2. Prepare for Your Appointment
Once registered, you’ll receive instructions on how to prepare your pet for surgery.
Important reminders:
• Your pet must be fasted the night before surgery which means nothing to eat or drink
after 11pm.
• Please email us your pet’s records prior to your appointment. If we have administered
vaccines in the past, you will not need to resend those records.
• To streamline check-in, sign all consent forms prior to the date of the surgery.
3. Visit the Mobile Clinic
Bring your pet to the mobile clinic at the scheduled location and time.
• Cats must be transported in a carrier (no dog kennels).
• Dogs must be on a leash (please remove harnesses and clothing before drop off).
Each animal will receive:
• Spay or neuter surgery
• Vaccinations (DHPP/FVRCP and Rabies)
• Microchip
*Please note that if you bring an animal that is different from what you scheduled online, you will lose your appointment and your deposit, and will not be permitted to book with PetSet again.
4. Pick Up Your Pet
Pets will be ready to go home the same day.
You’ll receive guidance on how to care for your pet during recovery.
FAQs
Are there additional charges beyond the $20 deposit?
No, there are no additional costs beyond the non-refundable deposit.
If I do not want surgery for my pet, can I schedule vaccines only?
We host four vaccine clinics per year. Please visit the following link for more information: https://pet-set.org/vaccinations/
What time is drop-off?
Drop-off is at 7:00 AM.
What time is pick-up?
Pick-up is typically between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM; however, our staff will provide a more specific time during drop-off.
My pet is a Doberman. Why does this breed not qualify?
Dobermans commonly have a clotting disorder called von Willebrand’s Disease. As we are unable to test for this condition on the mobile unit, we recommend that all Dobermans be seen by a full-service veterinarian to ensure their safety.
How do I know if my pet is brachycephalic?
Brachycephalic pets are breeds with short, flat faces and noses, which can make breathing more difficult, especially under anesthesia. Common examples include Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, and Persian cats. If your pet has a shortened snout or “smushed” facial appearance, they may be considered brachycephalic. For safety reasons, we recommend these pets be evaluated by a full-service veterinarian.
Will my pet have sutures that need to be removed?
No, we use dissolvable sutures, so there is no need for suture removal.
Will my pet receive pain medication?
All pets will receive an injectable pain medication that lasts approximately 24 hours.
Dogs will also be sent home with an additional three days of pain medication.
Does my pet need to wear a cone after surgery?
Yes, all pets should wear an e-collar for 7-10 days after surgery. Every animal will be sent home with one.
My pet falls outside your service weight or breed limits. Can you recommend a low-cost veterinarian?
Yes, please refer to the following list of low-cost veterinary options:
